<p>The toroid winder consists of a holder which clamps the ring shaped core but allows it to be detached and a rotatable plate which can be turned about its central axis and has three cut-outs into which the holder can be inserted. When the coil is being wound, the winding ring turns around its own axis and the plate holder and core turn around the central axis of the plate. Shortly before the holder comes up against the winding ring a second holder is inserted into one of the cut-outs in the plate, clamping the core, in a different position on its surface. The first holder is removed and the coil winding continued thus allowing a full 360 degree winding to be achieved instead of the usual maximum of 320 degrees.</p> |
