The clamp ring (1) closure comprises a swivelable (at 5,13) closure link (7) whose curvature is concentric with that of the ring and which can be secured (at 5 and 3) to the two ends at either side of the gap in the open ring. The link has a wedge-shaped (10) projection (9) capable of engaging a loop (3) provided on the outer periphery of the ring. The tapered side of the projection may have ratchet teeth and may have a non-tapered portion at its widest point to form a locating hook capable of accommodating the width of the loop.
