PURPOSE:To prevent feed of copied sheets to a peripheral equipment beyond its capacity, by changing an operation mode and interposing a wait in reply to wait requirement of the peripheral equipment. CONSTITUTION:When a copy tray is removed from a copier and a transcript or abstract binding machine is connected with the copier, input and output port I/O is connected with electronic equipment 34 of the binding machine. This machine processes copied sheets discharged from the copier to bind the transcripts or the abstracts, and when the copied sheets are fed from the copier at a speed beyond the processing capacity of the binder, a wait requiring signal is sent from equipment 34 to I/O. CPU receives this wait requiring signal through I/O, changes over an automatic original feeder from an operation mode of simultaneously acting original discharge and feed to that of acting original feed after its discharge, and accomodates the binder with a wait time by changing the interval of copy discharge, thus permitting the copier to be prevented from feeding beyond the processing capacity of the peripheral equipment. |
