Quick-change unit for heavy die set - has hydraulic jacks to lift die shoe from press bed for access to tooling

The unit for quick changing of tooling in heavy die sets has interchangeable die shoes and tooling piloted and guided on the bed of the press during operation. Oil hydraulic jacks lift the die shoe from the bed of the press and disengage the pilots. Pneumatic cylinders disengage and retract the guides for roll-on roll-off of the shoe from the press giveing free access to the die shoe and to the underside of the blanking punch holder plate for repair or change of tooling. Guide sleeves for alignment of the blanking punch with the blanking die during operation of the press are pneumatically disengaged from leader pins in the die shoe providing transfer clearance for the roll-on/roll-of.
