This gas scrubber comprises gutters (12, 13) inclined to the vertical, extending between an upper tank (5) and a lower tank (8) and in which water trickles continuously. These gutters are arranged in rows oriented transversely to the direction of flow of the gases and in which the gutters are placed quincunx fashion, in order to form chicanes placed in the path of the gas flow, obliging the gas to travel along a sinuous path leaving behind, in line with each row, the particles suspended in the trickling water. A scrubber of this type can be advantageously combined with a grain dryer. In such a case, the gases give up to the trickling water their own heat and the latent heat resulting from condensation of the moisture which they contain. The trickling surfaces may also serve as heat exchange surfaces.
