The reaction product of 2,2'-(1,2-cyclobutylene) bis(4,6-diamine-s-triazine) (I), melamine (II) and an aldehyde (III). (III) is pref. formaldehyde. The wt. ratio (I) : (II) is pref. in the range of 0.1:1 to 20:1, the molar ratio of formaldehyde :(I) is pref. in the range of 1:1 to 8:1 and the molar ratio of formaldehyde : (II) is pref. 1:1 to 3:1. The moulding compositions can be used to melamine-type moulded-articles, e.g. dinner ware. These moulded articles have better stain-resistance to tea and coffee than hitherto. |
