<p>The present invention relates to certain new fungicidal 1-(2-phenylethyl)-triazolium salts of the formula in which the phenyl and triazole rings may be substituted, in which R' is -O-R2, -S(O)m-R3 or -O-CO-R4 wherein R2, R3 and R4 are optional substituted hydrocarbon substituents and m is 0, 1 or 2, and in which Z? is an equivalent of an anion of a non-phytotoxic acid. The compounds are prepared by reaction of a 1-phenyl-2-triazolyl-ethyl derivative with a halide in the presence of a diluent, and the halide in the resulting triazolium halide is optionally replaced by another anion in a manner which is in itself known. As plant protection agents, the active compounds according to the invention can be employed particularly successfully for combating species of Venturia, for combating powdery mildew fungi, and powdery mildew of cereals.</p> |
