PURPOSE:To attain to utilize energy availably by a method wherein an urban garbage is preliminarily dehydrated to be separated into a dehydrated garbage and a released water and the dehydrated garbage is decomposed by heating and the released water is subjected to the fermentation treatment to treat the garbage efficiently. CONSTITUTION:An urban garbage is separated into a dehydrated garbage 8 and a released water 9 by preliminarily dehydrating said urban garbage by a dehydrator 1 and the dehydrated garbage 8 is introduced into a heat decomposition furnace 2 to and subjected to the heat decomposition to form a heat decomposition residue 10 and a decomposition gas 11. In this case, because this decomposition gas 11 is a combustible gas, said gas is passed through a cooler 3 to separate a cooled water therein and, thereafter, utilized as a fuel of the heat decomposition furnace 2. On the other hand, because the released water contains an org. substance in a high concn., it is treated in a methane fermentation apparatus 5. Thereby, while the heat efficiency is enhanced, the urban garbage is treated sufficiently. |
