<p>The unit comprises a vertical air duct with intake at the lower end. The top of this riser duct leads into one end of a horizontal duct which delivers conditioned air at its free end. Fans are installed at the junction between the two ducts and a refrigerating heat exchanger is fitted in the horizontal duct, downstream of the fans. The air is further conditioned by humidification. Humidification is carried out in the horizontal duct downstream of the heat exchanger. The base of the horizontal duct contains a constant level, open topped water tank. The current of air leaving the heat exchanger is deflected downwards to blow against the surface of water in the tank and hence pick up moisture. The deflectors are pref. adjustably inclinable, transverse baffle blades.</p> |
