The top valve component fits in a sanitary tap, having a housing enclosing a supply passage, and two control discs hanging in relation to each other and comprising water inlet ports. A hinging adjusting bar is fixed in the axial direction and rigidly coupled to one of the discs, and a seal fits between the fixed disc and an internal face in the tap. The seal (24) and the two control discs (7,9) are movable axially in the inlet passage (4), being rigidly connected together. The movable disc (9) can be fixed rigidly to a guide piece (11) sliding axially in the passage.
