A horn aerial for circular or linear polarization has a coupling circuit for extracting stored information using its own follow-up systems. It can be used on ground satellite stations. It has only a small amount of undesired coupling between the second order transverse magnetic and second order electric transverse electric modes. It consists of a combination of a pyramid horn aerial in three sections (1,2,3). It is supplied by a rectangular wave-guide (4) which widens into a square cross-section at the joint with the horn aerial. There is also a wave type selector (5) for extracting the two second order modes where the short-circuiting plane (8) of these two modes are separated.
