The pulse generator provides pulses modulated in width according to an input signal. The input pulses are supplied to a circuit (26-28) which provides a charging signal during the input signal pulses. This signal is supplied to a time constant circuit (35-38) with different charging and discharging time constants, producing a variable level signal. A threshold circuit (41,42) responds to the input pulses and the variable level signal to produce wide output pulses in correlation with the input pulses, their width being greater than that of the input pulses. The input signal may comprise trigger pulses or noise pulses.
