The compact mounting for a windscreen wiper stub has the drive arm (13) and the wiper connection (17) fitted close to each other on the same side as the stub bearing. A water deflector is included while the stub base is secured by a short mounting. The wiper drive can be fitted into a shallow recess and is fitted from one side only. No access is required behind the mounting bulkhead.
