In a straddling dowel for the attachment of plates, furniture hinges or suchlike to a shank (1,2) provided with a through-hole (5), which shank (1,2) is provided with at least two longitudinal slots (12) located opposite one another and extending over at least a part of its length from its end that is intended for insertion in the dowel bore, the hole has at least one region (6) which widens in the direction of this end. A straddling part, provided with an internal thread, can be inserted in the hole (5), into which hole a screw provided with a head can be inserted, for drawing the straddling part into the region of the narrowing bore. In order to simplify the dowel, and reduce its cost, the stradding part consists of a normal, multi-edged screw nut. <IMAGE> |
