Petrol pump nozzle guard - comprises flexible elastomeric dome on nozzle with wide edge bearing against coachwork

The guard fits on a liquid-dispensing nozzle, being particularly for use on petrol pumps. It comprises a dome (1) of flexible material, semi-rigid and capable of distortion, and with a wide contact edge (1d) round the nozzle (4a), so as to press against the coachwork (2) round the fuel tank filling spout (3a). The edge is joined by a bowl-shaped portion to a central one fitting over the nozzle. The guard can be of elastomeric material, with the contact edge extending inwards towards the nozzle, while adjacent to the edge there can be a groove and a lip tending to shut, to prevent fuel spillage.
