PURPOSE:To enable an easy adjustment of a tension of a cable, by a method wherein operations necessary to adjust a nut screwed in a screw part at a parking brake cable end can be performed by pressing an operation knob situated in a location within easy reach of a driver. CONSTITUTION:When a parking brake cable is additionally tightened, said degree is first estimated and flexible wire 14 is lowered with an operation knob 15 pressed at a time when braking is loosened. A rotating flange 27 turns in the direction A, and a coil spring rotates after being pulled. Thus, an adjustment nut 12 screwed in a scres part 11 of a screw bar 5 rotates clockwise, i.e., rotates in the direction in which the brake cable is tightened additionally. Press force applied on the operation knob 15 is then released, and thereby the knob 15 restores to an original position, and an arm 28 restores as well. An inner diameter of the coil spring 32 increases in the direction in which a press force against a periphery of the nut 12 is brought to a null position, and in the meantime, a coil spring 31 is brought into a press contact with the nut 12, whereby the rotation of the adjustment nut 12 in the loosining direction is checked. |
