<p>On the appearance of each alternation, there is applied to the electrodes of the lamp an exciting voltage which grows more rapidly, and tends towards a higher maximum value (Vm) than the peak value (Vc) of the supply voltage (Vr), and following arcing, the voltage across the electrodes of the lamp is permitted to return to the arc voltage (Va). Use in public lighting, lighting of warehouses, department stores or sorting stations, in order to permit reduction in energy consumption during off-peak periods. <IMAGE></p> |
