An assembly for fastening panels 6 to walls comprises a plate 1 secured to a wall anchor 2 in spaced relation to the wall 3, the plate having uniformly thickened portions over a large area around the positions to be occupied by elements 5 for securing the panels 6to the plate 1, the edges of each thickened portion being abrupt in relation to the remainder of the plate surface. The thickened portions may be directed towards the same side of the plate, or some to one side and some to the other side of the plate. The plate 1 may have a central boss 1a through which it is secured to the wall anchor, about which at least one resilient spacer element 7 is provided which serves to press a layer 8 of insulating material against the wall. The abrupt edges of the thickened portions of the plate 1 may locate joint covering strips 10. |
