PURPOSE:To make a telephone call without interrupting picture transmission by synthesizing a sound signal and picture signal into one via a processing method, by controlling the processing rate of the picture signal according to the existence of the sound signal, and by sending alternately the picture signal and sound signal when the sound signal exists. CONSTITUTION:A sound signal from transmitter 17 is sampled by sound analysis part 18, encoded by coder 19 and temporarily stored in buffer memory 20. Once sound signal detecting circuit 21c detects that, multiplex signal generating circuit 21d sends a multiplex signal to multiplex signal insertion part 6 to send the stop command to AND circuit A1 and the pass command to AND circuit B1 and C1. Then, OR circuit D1 outputs a signal passed through AND circuit B1, and buffer memory 5 outputs the picture signal; and AND circuit C1 outputs a signal and buffer memory 20 outputs the encoded sound signal to synthesizing part 7, reducing the processing rate of the picture signal. |
