PURPOSE:To make it possible to transmit always only the picture signal corresponding to the size of the original even if the original of an arbitrary size is transmitted, by providing a mark consisting of two or more kinds of luminance on the surface of the original covering material. CONSTITUTION:The original on original table 13 is read by optical read part 13. Original table 13 is provided with a fixed signal such as a bar-code, and mark memory part 15 stores the fixed picture signal corresponding to this fixed signal. Detecting circuit part 16 compares the picture signal read by optical read part 14, for example, picture signal A shown in the figure with fixed picture signal A' stored in mark memory part 15, and extracts picture signal (b) to be transmitted by eliminating fixed picture signal A' from the read picture signal. The transmission picture signal extracted in detecting circuit part 16 is transmitted from transmission circuit part 17. |
