A unit-dose pharmaceutical composition adapted for administration to humans, comprises 40 to 80% of an actively absorbed monosaccharide, 7.5 to 30% of an actively absorbed naturally occuring amino acid, and 0.5 to 10% of citric acid, or a salt thereof; is useful in the treatment of diarrhoea in humans by oral rehydration. |
