PURPOSE:To obtain a single phase apparatus comparable to a large 3 phase high voltage generator with a simple construction by smoothing the current waveform to be fed to a load utilizing a flywheel diode and a leakage inductance of a transformer. CONSTITUTION:The output of a rectifying circuit 2 is chopped by a switching element 4 receiving a pulse of a pulse width modulation circuit 11 adapted to generate a pulse with a width according to a control voltage VC. The first and second control rectifying elements 7 and 8 are operated synchronizing with an on/off action of the element 4 to effect alternate switching in the direction of the primary current of the main transformer 6 and the secondary output of the transformer 6 is rectified by a high voltage rectifying circuit 9 to be fed to an X-rays tube XT. Then, the current waveform fed to the load XT is smoothed in the combination a fly wheel diode 5 adapted to release energy accumulated in the transformer 6 and the leakage inductance of the transformer 6. This provides a single phase high voltage generator for the X-rays device capable of rapid spourt of large current with a simple construction, which is comparable to a large 3 phase voltage generator. |
