Method and arrangement for effective decomposition of a liquid medium consisting of a liquid or liquid-containing suspension of solid material and admixture of the liquid medium in a gas flow A. The liquid medium is supplied together with a gas medium to a mixing arrangement 1 arranged in the gas flow. In order to eliminate the risk of clogging, and achieve high mixing capability and low manufacturing cost, the mixing arrangement according to the invention is configured with a water part 10 arranged to collect the liquid medium into a liquid surface above which the gas medium is supplied under pressure and caused to flow out through a gap 14 at the same height as the liquid surface with a speed of 50-200 m/s under co- ejection and decomposition of the liquid medium, and incorporation in the gas flow A. The gas medium is advisedly a partial gas flow of the gas flow A. When the liquid medium contains abrasive material, the edges 15, 16 of the gap are made of material resistant to grinding, such as hard metal.
