<p>The preselector gearchange control has a linkage between the clutch pedal and a servo drive which moves the gear lever through the gate every time the clutch pedal is pressed, and without having to use the hand control. This leaves the driver free to exercise maximum control. The gearchange can be between the upper two gears and cover most of the driving time. The coupling to the gear lever is by a slotted plate and the servo is pneumatically controlled by a slider valve. The clutch pedal operates against a two setting lever to move it from one stable setting to the other.</p> |
