The harpsichord or spinet pitch selector allows one set to be substituted in stages for another. It comprises four or six registers, incorporated in the instrument. The design allows the changeover to be made instantaneously, without interrupting the playing. Each register covers the rows of pincers and allows substitution following a previously set plan. Each plan is incorporated in perforations in the registers. The slots, through which the pincers pass, allow movement only of those selected.
