<p>The machine grades wooden planks according to length. It has a rectangular chassis (1-4) with a motor and reduction gear at one end. The reduction gear drives a transverse shaft (11) in the top part of the chassis, and this in turn drives via pulleys and belts other shafts (15) in the same horizontal plane and parallel to it. Trucks (37) or conveyor belts are mounted below the pulley and belts. The first shaft can have a flat extending for its full length, accommodating the pulleys driving the other shafts via pulleys. The lengths of the belts are of different lengths and adjacent pairs of pulleys on which they are mounted are spaced apart by e.g. 20 cms. more than the previous pair.</p> |
