The tool consists of two jaws which clamp together with corresponding undulations. The undulations have a profile which reduces progressively to the centre of the jaws, the jaws being closer together at the centre. The walls at the side of the jaws are divergent. The tool is intended to be used with a crimp connector with internal teeth to penetrate through the cable wall into the conducting core. When used, it reduces the tendency of the crimp connector to relax elastically and impair the electrical and mechanical properties of the connection. Each jaw has a plane end section which forms parallel plane with the longitudinal axis of the connector, and one end at an inclined plane to that axis.
|
