A cell intended for a cardiac stimulator, comprising at least one lithium anode (4), a manganese dioxide cathode (6), and an electrolyte (5). The cathode material is of manganese dioxide of the beta type obtained by pyrolysis of manganese nitrate tetrahydrate.
