The wet fabric is pre-dried on drums to 30-40% and then passed through an insulated hot environment to a stretching frame where under heat and steam treatment it is stretched to the required dimensions. The heat brings the fibres to a point near plastification so that their structure remains permanent and will not shrink when the fabric is made up into garments.
