The valve housing (1) is closed at the lower end (3) of the cylinder fitted with the plug (4). This contains the inlet passages (5) for hot and cold water. The outlet connection is adjacent to the annular space (9). There is a movable ceramic plate (14) able to move across the openings. The plate is actuated by a lever (30) pivoting about the point (32) which allows movement in both planes. The plate is supported freely by a spindle (23) fixed at the ends in a housing which is able to slide across the plug (4).
