<p>The bolted joint between a metal part (1) and an insulation material part (2) for e.g. h.v. switchgear, includes spring washers (9) to compensate for differences in expansion. The joint is designed to reduce the possibility of electrical breakdown. The bolt (11) passes through the spring washers which are housed inside a cup-shaped sleeve (10), fitting into a hole (6) through the insulating member (2), then through a clearance hole in the metal part. The sleeve has a flange (8) around its open end, which limits its depth of entry inside the first hole. In another design, the springs are fully compressed inside the sleeve, and a washer is placed between the bolt head and the sleeve flange. In another variation, the flange also encloses the washer.</p> |
