<p>The truck has a vertical mast, which is U-shaped in cross section and encloses a load handling fork which is raised and lowered between its arms. The truck travels on four wheels which can be swung around a vertical axis, as well as rotating about a horizontal axis. The two wheels each side of the mast are double wheels (4,5) which can be raised and lowered by hydraulic actuators. In one design, the wheel axles (19) are mounted each side of a housing (7) which itself acts as the hydraulic actuator. This encloses and is supported by a block (21) with a supply channel (22) down the middle for hydraulic liquid, so as to act as a piston.</p> |
