The unit comprises a frame, used to hold several layers of plastics film. This frame has vertical corner posts, pointed for anchoring to the sea bed and with top and bottom supports. At intervals of 5 cm. are horizontal rods (a1,a4) the plastic film passing over these from left to right. At the top and bottom, the ends of the film are fastened to square rods (b1,b2) located in similar recesses in the uprights; these rods are used to stretch the film. The surface of the film is pierced with holes for locating containers for holding the larvae. |
