Cleaner, e.g. for a milking machine suction pump exhaust, comprises a container with a central inlet tube from which air flows onto the apex of a conical part of a divider plate which also has arcuate radial perforations and divides the container into air and sepd. contaminants chambers. Contaminants are removed by funnel-shaped discs located in the air chamber coaxially around the tube, and each having openings non-aligned with those of adjacent discs. There is pref. a radial wing on the conical part, and the conical part base width and wing length correspond to the inlet tube dia. The arrangement provides greater sepg. efficiency and automatic cleaning of the discs.
