Hollow body of deep-drawn shell sections - has reinforcing insert in form of rigid ribbed and honeycomb body

The method of constructing a light hollow body may be used for a surfboard or a sailboard. The hollow body comprises an outer shell assembled from deep-drawn shell sections welded together along the edges. The shell is made esp. of plastics material and there is an insert which connects the two shell sections together. The insert is a rigid ribbed and honeycomb-section body (2). Parts of the insert and shell (3) can be body portions (1',1"), joined together along a plane (6). An intermediate strip of high-tensile material can extend over the entire surface of this plane.
