<p>The machine needle and bobbin have separate control mechanisms which are actuated to move in synchronism, in two mutually perpendicular directions in a plane perpendicular to the needle axis, by pairs of pref. step action electric motors. Actuating endless screws. Pref. the mechanisms can be rotated around the needle axis by auxiliary motors, and the step-action motors are controlled by a logic circuit including a photo-electric detector for detecting the edge of the work-piece. The mechanism allows a wide variety of stitches to be executed automatically.</p> |
