A mixing valve comprises two control valves, each formed by a rotatable sleeve 17 having an inlet 24 and outlet 25, and an insert 37 containing a screen 38 and a non-return valve 39, the insert engaging the sleeve 17 by means of lugs (52), Fig. 7 (not shown), which engage in recesses (35), Fig. 4 (not shown), and having lugs 45 engaging in a groove 16 in a bush 11 with a bayonet connection so that the insert can be removed from the sleeve 17 only in the fully closed position of the control valve. From the control valves fluid passes to a mixing chamber 6 and thermostatic valve to an outlet 10. A sleeve 18 of plastics is disposed between the bush 11 and sleeve 17, and has bores 28, 29 connecting with the inlet and outlet in the closed position of the valve to allow fluid pressure to act behind the sleeve and effect a seal. Each non-return valve is formed by a conical rubber diaphragm 39 acting on a perforated seat. For flush mounting on a wall the unit is supported by a plate 57 and rubber cushion 58.</p> |
