The equipment cleans and disinfects bedpans and their contents, and is mobile. The pans can be cleaned by a mixture of disinfectant and water, sprayed under high pressure, being inverted and emptied in a totally enclosed loading chamber. The high-pressure disinfectant solution can be used to disintegrate the contents, both being stored in a dirty-water tank for the period necessary for disinfection, this tank having a pipe for connection to the drains. A connection for flushing water can also be provided.
