<p>A Ziegler catalyst for polymerisation of olefin monomers prepared by reducing a transition metal cpd (TiCl4) with an organo magnesium cpd (reaction product of Mg with a halo hdyrocarbon) is activated by a tri(1-6C) alkyl aluminium treated with up to an equimolar amount of water pref. in presence of an inert hydrocarbon diluant. The activator gives improved yield of polymer. Because of its high activity it may be used as fluidised bed.</p> |
