PURPOSE:To enable a multilayer silver halide color photographic material to be processed stably even in the presence of metal ion by exposing the material and processing it with a developer in the presence of a boron-contg. compound and a benzene deriv. having two adjacent hydroxyl groups. CONSTITUTION:A multilayer silver halide color photographic material having at least blue-, green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers on the support is exposed and processed with a color developer for a silver halide color photographic material in the presence of a boron-contg. compound and a compound such as 1,2- dihydroxybenzene having at least two adjacent hydroxyl groups on the benzene ring and represented by formula I (where each of R3 and R4 is H, halogen, sulfonic acid, optionally substituted 1-7C alkyl, -OR5, -COOR6, a group of formula I or phenyl, and each of R5, R6, potionally substituted R7 and R8 is H or 1-18 C alkyl). Thus, the photographic material can be processed stably. |
