Wear resistant components, esp. for milling or mixing plant - made from titanium contg. small amts. of dissolved oxygen and nitrogen

The components are made of Ti contg. (atomic %) 0.5-15(2-10)% dissolved oxygen, and 0.03-7.5 (1-6)% dissolved nitrogen. The ratio of oxygen:nitrogen in the components is pref. 2:1; and a Ti alloy may be used instead of Ti. The components are used esp. as milling- balls or -rollers in the ceramics- or metal-industries, or in machine construction; and also resist corrosive environments. The components are very easy to mfr. and possess a very high resistance to abrasion and wear.
