<p>The multi-element pencil comprises a bottom housing sleeve (1) with end openings, the rear one accommodating a guide cylinder (9) with two diametrally opposite guide grooves (10) and an end boss with stop working with a stop segment on a cam sleeve. Two pencil leads (3) are mounted diametrally opposite in the bottom sleeve with their points towards the housing opening, and have slides (7) at the other ends working in the guide grooves. Each lead comprises a housing with lead tip and accommodating a sliding bar (5) with end tongs gripping the lead. The cam sleeve turns about the guide cylinder and slides on it, having an end cam with a flat acting as end stop with sloping faces symmetrically on either side extending downwards to a notch. One lead slide bears against a sloping face of the sleeve, so that on turning through 180 deg. one of the leads is extended into the writing position and the other retracted, both being retracted in the middle position.</p> |
