Rear aerofoil for car - has aerodynamic shape and adjustable mounting over top of rear windscreen

The rear aerofoil (6) for a car has an aerodynamic shape with the concave side towards the car roof (2) and mounted on short struts at a slight spacing over the rear edge of the roof. The aerofoil improves the airflow over the rear window and prevents it from soiling over. The aerofoil is set in the non turbulent flow above the barrier layer next to the car profile. It does not add greatly to the drag nor does it provide any uplift. The struts are adjustable to allow fitting to most shapes of car.
