PURPOSE:To enhance the resistance to liquid leakage by using sealants composed of specific resins for each of the packing side and the metal can side of a sealed portion. CONSTITUTION:The positive electrode can 4 is housed with the positive electrode mixture 1 of sliver oxide or the like, together with the separator 3 and the negative electrode mixture 1 of amalgamated zinc powder or the like, and then enclosed by the negative electrode can 5 through the packing 6 of nylon, to form a cell. The packing-contacted portion in the peripheral edge portion of the negative electrode can 5 of the cell is beforehand coated with a polyamide resin to form the sealant layer 7, and also the surface of the packing 6 is beforehand coated with uncured epoxy resin to form the sealant layer 8. Thus, good sealing film is formed by curing reactions in the interface between both the sealant layers 7 and 8, permitting the resistance to liquid leakage to be raised. |
