FLUORESCENT SCREEN DEVICE

PURPOSE:To raise of the utilization rate of light by covering the particles of a fluorescent substance composing a fluorescent layer with a transparent film having a light refractive index smaller than that of the particles of the fluorescent substance. CONSTITUTION:The fluorescent substance particles 42 are covered with the transparent film 41 having a small refractive index. A part 44 or light coming out of the luminous point 43 present within the fluorescent substance particles 42 is refracted at the interface between the particles 42 and the film 41, refracted at the surfaces of the film 41, and then emitted outside of the particles. Also, the other light 45 coming out of the luminous point 43 is fully reflected at the surfaces of the film 41, and the remaining light 46 is fully reflected at the interface between the film 41 and the particles 42.
