<p>The mounting system for a column of thyristors (3) alternating with cooling discs (4) uses a tensioning plate (11) at each end of the column, connected by the rods (13). Retaining force is applied between these plates by a tensioning mechanism having a rotary drive (23) at one end. The column includes an insulator (5) each end, with a rod projecting at the end remote from the tensioning mechanism and secured by a collar and ring each side of the tensioning plate. An externally threaded rod (15) projecting at the other end carries a nut (16) so that it can be locked against its tensioning plate that end. This rod is connected to an extension (29) attached to a sliding block (20) travelling between guides (19,25). The block is pulled outwards by a threaded spindle (21) passing through a hole tapped in its outer end, rotated by the drive (23).</p> |
