摘要 PURPOSE:To record an image of high durability on an ordinary paper at high speed, by applying radiation energy to the thermosensitive ink, which is coated on a circulating surface, to make the ink partially adhesive and by transferring the adhesive part of the ink onto an image reception sheet. CONSTITUTION:The thermosensitive ink 2, which is unadhesive at room temperature but melts and becomes adhesive due to heating, is coated on a circulating surface 1 by a coating roll 3 equipped with a heater, to provide a thermosensitive ink layer 4. The circulating surface 1 is revolved in the direction of an arrow. The layer 4 is cooled at a point B so that the layer becomes unadhesive. Heat rays, which are emitted from a heat radiation modulator 5 and modulated in accordance with a signal, are condensed by a lens 6 and irradiated upon the ink layer 4 to fuse it to make an active ink portion 7. An image reception sheet 8 and the ink layer 4 are brought into contact with each other by a transfer roll 9 while the ink portion 7 remains active. The ink portion 7 is thus transferred onto the sheet 8 to form an image 10.
