1276317 Amides SANDOZ Ltd 7 July 1969 [16 July 1968] 34156/69 Heading C2C [Also in Division C4] 1,1<SP>1</SP> - Bis - (N - phenyl - N - ethyl - aminomethylcarbonylamino)-ethane is prepared by condensing chloroacetamide with paraldehyde to yield 1,1<SP>1 </SP>- bis - (chloromethylcarbonylamino)- ethane and reacting this with 2 moles of monoethyl-aniline. Bis - (N - phenyl - N - ethyl - aminomethylcarbonylamino)-methane is prepared by reacting chloroacetamide with formaldehyde to yield N-methylol-chloracetamide which is treated with cone. H 2 SO 4 to give bis-(chloromethylcarbonylamino)-methane which is finally reacted with 2 moles of monoethyl-aniline.
