<p>In energy absorbing structure, fitted at the ends of vehicles is a transverse stop partition (3) which forms part of the passenger space (1). The energy absorbing parts (9) are tubular and go from the partition to the vehicle end. The tubes are polyester resin impregnated glass fibre. The tube rear presses on the partition and the front is held by the bumper cross member (5). The energy absorbing assembly is held up by bearings on the partition and bumper cross member. The tube is made by injection moulding.</p> |
