PURPOSE:To prevent color smudging and coloring of needless color in the outline part of a picture to emphasize colors of the outline part furthermore, by amplifying or attenuating the chrominance signal by the control signal generated from the outline signal. CONSTITUTION:Outline signal (a) is input to input terminal 1 and is supplied to chrominance signal amplification control signal generating circuit 2. On a basis of information of signal (a), control signal (b) is generated which determines the amplification timing, information of amplification or attenuation, and the width of amplification for chrominance signal (c), and this signal (b) is supplied to chrominance signal amplifying circuit 4. Signal (c) input to chrominance signal input terminal 3 is amplified or attenuated in amplifying, circuit 4 by signal (b) and is converted to carrier signal (d) where rise and fall of the outline part are sharp. Signal (d) is supplied to chroma adder circuit 5 and is synthesized with luminance signal (e) which is input from luminance signal input terminal 6 and has been subjected to outline correction, and the synthesized signal is taken out as a composite color signal from output terminal 7. |
